Why should you invest in 1:1 yoga with me?
Although yoga is an inclusive + non-competitive practice that goes way beyond the merely physical or as a form of “exercise” that other practices offer - the asana (physical) practice of yoga is the least important part! - often that is how a yoga journey starts.
As Courteney, @thehonestyogateacher, put it in one of her recent posts:
“I started yoga because of what it would do for my body. 🧘♀️
I stayed because of what it did for my mind. 🧠
Now I teach because I can’t stop banging on about how much better of a state the world would be in if everyone did it too.” 🙏
Often people do first encounter it as a physical practice - in a gym, on holiday, or going to a class on a whim.
And as such it can often feel intimidating to take that first step into a busy class and outside your comfort zone.
That inner critic that whispers:
💭 What if everyone else is looking at me?
💭 What is everyone else is super-thin, super-fit or bendy?
💭 What if I “get it wrong”?
💭 What if I’m wearing the wrong clothes?
💭 What if I sweat or 💨?!
💭 What if I fall?
As a beginner, a few 1:1 classes can be really helpful to put you at ease & also receive undivided attention, including individually tailored hands-on adjustments, if you’re comfortable with them, a fully accessible practice & unique sequencing - just for you!
Equally, whether you’ve already practiced yoga a little or a lot, 1:1 sessions can really help deepen and develop your practice, including towards more advanced poses (if that’s your thing) using props to support.
Either way, it is a worth-while investment in yourself + your yoga practice.
